8 New Soyalicious Frozen Dessert
Soy What? It’s a soy-based frozen dessert with Acidophilus and Bifidus cultures called Soyalicious ™. Most people that have tried it say it tastes as good as any ice cream or frozen yogurt. We are introducing it in Creamy French Vanilla and Dutch Chocolate flavors. Soyalicious ™ is based on Sammi’s Best™ Soya-Rice, so it has the same vitamins and calcium only in smaller amounts. It contains probiotic cultures and Rice Fiber. Soyalicious ™ offers more nutrition per calorie than any ice cream type dessert.

People who have been avoiding ice cream because of allergies to dairy products or lactose intolerance can enjoy this delicious treat anytime. We do not suggest you over indulge in this Epicurean delight, but if you want a frozen dessert that is actually healthy, this is it. It comes in a dry mix and can be stored for a year without losing the benefits of live cultures. It works great in homemade ice cream freezers like the gallon-size Rival. Making Soyalicious ™ is fun and economical. If you don’t have one, the Rival electric home freezer is available at stores for about $30.00. We guarantee you will like this product, and it is easy to make. Add fresh fruit, strawberries, or cherries to the French Vanilla before or after mixing for an added taste treat.

8 Organic More Nutritious
“Organic fruits, vegetables and grains contain more nutrients and less toxic substances than their conventional counterparts.” This research finding, along with the results of its 2001 Manufacturer Market Survey, were presented by the Organic Trade Association at a press conference at Natural Products Expo East in Washington, DC.

We wanted you to know that every product we offer is conscientiously formulated to be the very best product possible without compromising the highest standards. Over the years we have made numerous improvements in order to make a healthier product. We were among the first to argue against hydrogenated oils and the negatives of trans-fats, years before the FDA took a stand. If they would only do the same with homogenized milk. We have been pioneering the use of Non-GMO ingredients. The FDA is presently undecided about genetically modified organisms, while Europe and other countries ban their use and importation, they think for valid reasons. We have decided not to use GMO for these same reasons.

Except for food you grow and eat uncooked, almost everything is changed, processed or refined in some way. These changes can be healthy, or harmful. Foods are chemical compounds that are either good for you or not. Some natural, organic plants will kill you, or processed differently may save your life. We use certified organic ingredients when it makes a difference in quality or purity, not as an excuse to charge more. Some are not available certified and would offer no advantage if they were. The majority of totally organic crops in the world are not certified. We actively support better growing practices, not consumer exploitation.

Katherine DiMatteo, executive director of the Greenfield, Mass.-based Organic Trade Association, was pleased by the results of the analysis, but she added that “companies should be wary of promoting organic products on the basis of superior nutritional status until follow-up studies confirm the results.”

Every ingredient we use is researched thoroughly before it becomes part of our products. No harmful additives, processing or refining is accepted. Soy-based ingredients are Identity Preserved, documented and sourced from suppliers who meet the strictest standards in America and Europe. The final product then passes third party testing.

Optimum health and vitality depends on essential proteins, fatty acids, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals in proper balance. We contend that our products are more nutrient dense, complete and better balanced than any product of their kind you will find.

We hope BestLife™ products will make a positive difference in your diet.

8 Probiotics
The benefits of certain lactic acid cultures for humans were suggested as far back as the early 1900s. In 1908, Nobel laureate Eli Metchnikoff observed that Bulgarians lived significantly longer than other people at that time. He suggested that their regular consumption of milk fermented with lactic acid cultures contributed to their better health and longer lives. Since these first observations, many clinical trials have substantiated the health benefits of lactic acid cultures. The term “probiotics,” which means “pro-life,” was first used in 1974 to describe naturally occurring microorganisms that could be beneficial to health when regularly consumed.

The human digestive tract contains a delicate balance of beneficial and potentially pathogenic microorganisms. Under certain conditions, such as stress, traveling and antibiotic treatment, this natural balance is disrupted and the number of pathogens increase while the number of beneficial organisms decrease, resulting in digestive upset or diarrhea. Researchers theorize that the naturally occurring bacteria in probiotics work by inhibiting or controlling intestinal pathogens through bacteriocin and organic acid production, and competition for nutrients.

The health benefits of probiotics are increasingly recognized among researchers, physicians and consumers. These well documented benefits include:

w Lactose tolerance for lactase-deficient people
w Diarrhea prevention for travelers, infants and the elderly
w Constipation treatment, especially in the elderly
w Yeast infection prevention for women prone to chronic infections
w Less digestive upsets after antibiotic treatment

Other promising areas include cholesterol reduction, immune enhancement and cancer suppression. Two genera of beneficial bacteria, Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium, generally are recognized as probiotics However, not all probiotics are the same. Products can differ in strain origin, purity, viability, stability, consistency and clinical documentation, all of which influences product performance.”
